I've been working on painting terns in acrylic. When the water warms and the baitfish enter the channel on Block Island, these delicate hunters decorate the sky above the outgoing tide.

My favorite sea creature

After tropical storms, I often find these charming creatures floating near the surface on the south side of Block Island, clinging to blades of sea-grass which have been torn from the seafloor by heavy swells.
